This is “How To Avoid Being Sucked Into The Glamour Of Hollywood”, please feel free to check out the rest of my distractions!
There’s a reason why Hollywood is such a major attraction and it isn’t just because of the big sign on Mt. Lee in Los Angeles, California. There’s the famous stars on the sidewalk that only the biggest celebrities of any generation receive as an award for their popularity, the famous locations and shows that are talked about in all of the gossip magazines and of course that’s where movies are made. We all know that this is just a trap and there’s one way to get out of the trappings of the Hollywood lifestyle.
Do You Want To Know The Secret To Avoiding The Hollywood Lifestyle?
There’s one big secret that I’m going to let you in on right now, some of you may already know it, but I doubt the number is very high.
Are you ready? Here it is:
Go to Hollywood.
That’s it. Go ahead. Spend a day in Hollywood and you will quickly learn that for all the attractions that Hollywood boasts, from The Chinese Theater to the Hollywood Wax Museum to catching a taping of Jimmy Fallon Live, there’s a grim reality when you’re just walking the streets.
When you see Hollywood on television, you see the highlights, but when you’re there you won’t see any fruit for the edification of a believer.
Jesus will give you something Hollywood never could: Abundant Life! Tweet This!
There Is A Living Hope For Those Who Believe In Jesus Christ!
Hollywood promises you life with a lifestyle that gives glory to famous people, but when those people are quickly forgotten and replaced with other idols that will never leave you fulfilled and satisfied, only craving more and more without producing fruit.
Hollywood is a black hole
Jesus Christ, gives you life, which fulfills and does not fade away!
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1 Peter 1: 3-5 (NKJV)
I’m not going to pretend that I don’t watch movies or television or enjoy any kind of entertainment. I think those things are fun too. I just don’t believe that we should put any hope or trust in any of them, because they won’t fulfill us in the long run.
Hollywood is shallow. We can do better than that, don’t you think?
