I’m gonna be straight with you guys.
I always enjoy critical feedback.
As long as you’re talking about how great I am.
Check out this graphic from Visual.ly and then I’m gonna tell you some more about how great I am (or something else).
I’ve written hundreds and hundreds of reviews over the last few years, mostly having to do with music, with a few books, movies and other products sprinkled in there and I can easily concur with a lot of the choices made by others on there.
People like to give feedback for any number of reasons, from liking their voices heard to wanting to help other people, but there’s a dirty little secret that most people don’t realize: most feedback that people give is positive.
We spend way too much worry over people who just might have a critical eye over us as Christians, that we’ll do anything to avoid it, even though there’s a great chance that they will say something positive about us or they’re going to tell us something that will help us make improvements in the future and the long run!
Jesus had a better idea:
And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!
Luke 12: 4-5
The very worst thing someone could do to you is kill you, right?
But you’re a Christian, so you don’t even have to worry about that, right?
So don’t let what someone else might say about you scare you, they’re probably going to say something nice about you anyway, because that’s what people normally do.
Instead, just listen to God, His voice is the one that matters anyway.
Have you ever been afraid of what someone might say about you?
